Serene Cape Cod

Award winning Cape Cod fine art photography by Boston and New England photographer Juergen Roth. Serene Cape Cod was awarded Highly Commended in the 2014 U.S.A. Landscape Photographer of the Year contest from a competitive field of thousands of entries from around the world. The judges was a selection of world famous photographers: Art Wolfe, David Muench, Tim Fitzharris, Charlie Waite, Christopher Burkett, Jim Patterson, Marc Muench, Brenda Tharp, Marc Adamus, Miriam Leuchter, Justin Reznick, Sarah Marino and Varina Patel.

This blue boat photo location is easily accessible by car and off Route 28. The photograph was taken late afternoon on a beautiful Cape Cod summer day.

Cape Cod is a cape jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean in the easternmost portion of the state of Massachusetts, in the Northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and award winning beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months. In 1914, the Cape Cod Canal was cut through the base or isthmus of the peninsula, turning nearly all of Cape Cod into what would technically be described as an island.
Cape Cod is approximately co-extensive with Barnstable County, though small portions of the towns of Bourne and Sandwich lie west of the canal. Both road bridges connecting the Cape to the mainland cross the canal: the Sagamore Bridge and the Bourne Bridge. In addition, the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge carries railway freight and limited passenger services onto the Cape. Cape territory is divided into fifteen towns with many villages; Provincetown lies at the tip of the peninsula.

Good light and happy photo making!
